Backer PDFs Sent!
about 6 years ago – Tue, Apr 10, 2018 at 12:33:48 AM

As most of you should now know, the first Revolutionaries PDFs have been sent out to backers! We hope you are enjoying your first look at the game.

We’re now looking for any errors that may have slipped through the net, as we are just about to send the final files to our printing partners. If you see any corrections that seem necessary, please email us at: [email protected]

We will then update the PDFs one final time in the next couple days, and then it’s off to the printers.

Now that BackerKit has been finalized and the Revolutionaries PDFs sent out, we shall also soon be looking at getting the early shipments for I Am Zombie and Toxicity underway.

Look for new updates coming out over the coming weeks.

With Those Liberties Firmly Established
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 09, 2018 at 04:52:15 PM

“That, as the Sword was the last Resort for the preservation of our Liberties, so it ought to be the first thing laid aside, when those Liberties are firmly established.”

                                                                          — George Washington, 1777

Good news, Patriots!

As I write these words, the final Revolutionaries proofs are being sent to our printing partners, which means a box of thrilling Colonial Era gaming goodness is one step closer to your hands. Meanwhile, the PDF version of the game will be made available to backers shortly!

On behalf of the entire MBG team, I would like to personally thank you all for your support, enthusiasm, and patience. It is thanks to all you patriots and loyalists that this project has come to life, and we are very excited to be able to get the finished game into your hands soon.

Stay tuned for updates about print status reports, further details about Revolutionaries games and events at GenCon Indy, and for extra spytastic fun, a new Decipher the Code promotion!

In the meantime, we invite you to check out the box for this game you helped bring to life. We think it’s pretty cool, and we hope you all will, too.

The Finish Line Approaches
about 6 years ago – Sun, Mar 04, 2018 at 07:30:15 PM

Greetings, Patriots and Loyalists,

As I write these words, the Make Believe Games team is running at full speed towards the finish line. We are lovingly reading over layouts, cards, and making final adjustments to get the proofs to our printing partners this month. I’m very excited about how it is all shaping up!

From the entire MBG team, we would also like to thank you for all your wonderful comments and emails about Fires of Liberty: The Revolutionaries Sampler.

As you have seen this week, we have begun to finalize the Revolutionaries BackerKit page. For those of you who have emailed with questions, we are currently looking into the answers and will respond to you shortly. Along those lines, I’d like to remind the last few backers who have yet to complete their BackerKit survey to please find a minute to get to it.

As many of you know, GenCon is the biggest convention of the year for us, and our plans are underway for this year’s show. It would be good to hear from any patriots who are planning to attend! During GenCon, we will be featuring an exclusive Revolutionaries Scenario, called Freedom’s Cry. As I hinted at previously, we will also be running a new Culper Code promotion. The winner of this next promotion will get to help our team name and flesh out a British prison officer featured in the Scenario, and for their efforts, will receive a production credit!

Stay tuned for more information about our Revolutionaries proof PDFs and for our next vital Culper communication.

Holiday Greetings
over 6 years ago – Mon, Dec 25, 2017 at 07:18:04 PM

Greetings, patriots and loyalists,

We took a little longer on this update, as we want to prioritize getting the first part of the Revolutionaries game into your hands for the holidays. I am pleased to announce that Fires of Liberty: The Revolutionaries Sampler will be made exclusively available to our backers shortly.

We are hard at work behind the scenes getting the core books into layout and gathering some amazing period-themed art from the talented Bradley McDevitt. We have had a few questions this week about early shipments. Once we can get the backerkit finalized and locked down, we will be able to ship out I Am Zombie and Toxicity to those backers who have requested separate shipments.

With an eye towards the launch of Revolutionaries, we will be hosting demo events for the game at GenCon 2018 featuring a Revolutionaries convention exclusive Scenario: “Freedom’s Cry.” With this mission, you will journey deep into the heart of enemy territory to rescue a patriot with intelligence vital to the cause. There, you will use the prototype submersible turtle to board a notorious prisonship and stage a daring escape.

We are also pleased to announce the PDF of this exclusive Scenario will be made available to all our backers during the GenCon weekend!

And finally, over the holiday season, we implore you to think of a certain overworked Scotsman chained to his computer sending out reminder emails to Kickstarter backers. This Christmas, give the gift of a completed backer survey and let’s bring some cheer to our weary Scot.

On behalf of the entire MBG team, we would like to wish everybody a safe and happy holidays.

P.S. For those of legal age: To get into the holiday spirit(s), may I suggest a cup of eggnog from the recipe of the commander in chief, George Washington, taken from the Old Farmer’s Almanac:

“One quart cream, one quart milk, one dozen tablespoons sugar, one pint brandy, ½ pint rye whiskey, ½ pint Jamaica rum, ¼ pint sherry—mix liquor first, then separate yolks and whites of 12 eggs, add sugar to beaten yolks, mix well. Add milk and cream, slowly beating. Beat whites of eggs until stiff and fold slowly into mixture. Let set in cool place for several days. Taste frequently.”
